ABOUT PYC

Lifelong friends are made here.

For 85 years, PYC has been a paradise for sailing enthusiasts.

We’re a family-oriented, all-volunteer club, devoted to sailing and sailboat racing. The venue is on the southern half of Pymatuning reservoir in Pennsylvania, about one mile east of the Ohio border. With a large open-water area and limited motorboat horsepower, it doesn’t get much better for small sailboat racing.

Members and their families come from all across the region…Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Youngstown, Columbus, and Buffalo. Some members travel from Annapolis, Florida, and even the West Coast to get here…because it’s worth the trip.

One of the most unique features of PYC is our residential nature. Membership includes a campsite on the grounds that accommodates a reasonably sized mobile home or park model trailer. Sail here…and stay here!

Members enjoy racing, Junior sailing instruction, tuning their boats, kayaking, biking, sharing dinners, frequent club parties, and all around fellowship (and did we mention four square?).

Club facilities include a centralized clubhouse with full kitchen, all-purpose room, fireplace, lockers, showers, porch and patio. The protected harbor and the large paved drysail area with two electric hoists make boat launching a breeze. The beach and swimming area provide hours of entertainment for kids. PYC maintain two committee boats for organizing races, plus a small fleet of support and rescue boats.
